Paris Motor Show, 30 September 1982. Citroën proudly marked the revival with this sedan showcasing proper Citroën traits!
The Citroën BX had many classic features of the brand: hydropneumatic suspension, four disc brakes, hatchback shape with covered rear wheels, steering column switches. Everything needed to gradually replace the GSA and showcase the BX as its family car offering.
BX spawned several variations;Diesel versions, sports models (19 GT and Sport, then 19 GTi and 19 GTi 16S), and a station-wagon later renamed Evasion.
Over 2,300,000 buyers worldwide and a recurring presence on the podium of French sales for all categories. The BX’s brilliant rise was halted in 1994 to make way for the Citroën Xantia which appeared in 1993.
